さて、水曜日にローリンヒルのライブに行ってきました。実は８年前の武道館のコンサートも行きました。やっぱりかっこよかったぁ。
だけど、開始時間が１９時なのに、始まったのは２１時半すぎ、、３時間以上、ずっと立ってました。正直、足いたかったです。
２１時の時点で「只今、ローリンヒルはホテルを出発しました」ってアナウンスが、、、２１時にホテル出発って、、。
客をバカにしています。。。
でも、ライブが始まった途端、待たされた事を忘れました。
リズム感といい、踊りといい、とにかくローリン素敵！

Takako went to the Lauryn Hill concert in Tokyo. The concert was supposed to start at 6pm although didn't start until about 9pm. Takako said that she looked so cool.

今夜はミカチンとご飯を食べました。結婚式以来だったので、三ヶ月ぶりです。変わらず細かったぁ。
さて、ミカチンについて今日はお話しましょう。彼女とあったのは約３年前です。旦那を通して知り合いました。
最初会った時と言うか、確か、初対面で、私、彼女にキスしました。私は何をやってたのでしょうか、、３年前は。。
えっとですね、簡単にいうと、ミカチンはまじめな人です、自分にバカ正直と言うか、、、
でもいつも思うのですが肩に力入りすぎですね。でも飲み会があると盛り上げてくれます、サービス精神旺盛です、酔っぱらいすぎる時もありますが（笑）でも今日は楽しい時間を過ごしました。
ミカチンと別れた後、アイリッシュパブに行きました、なんでもアイリッシュホリディということで。パブ、めっちゃ混んでた。
うちの旦那はアイリッシュ系の家庭ですが、今日初めて知った事があります。
私達の名字はDaugherty（ドールティ）という発音なんですがアイリッシュの人達に聞いたら”ダッハルティ”という事でした。
ダッハルティって、、、、、インド人みたい。。。今日も私の顔、、変わらず餅顔です、、助けてくれーー。

English translation (very short):
We met with a friend tonight, Mika. It has been about 3 months since we have seen her. We had a great time eating/drinking in Shinjuku. Takako & I finished the night at an Irish Pub named Dubliner's. It was a great St. Patrick's Day. We chatted with an IRISH lad that told us our last name is really pronounced "Da-har-tea". I still prefer the way I have grown to love, Daugherty (Dough-er-tea).

今日は、友達が遊びにきましたぁ。ミユキは名古屋から新幹線できました、流石です。
女友達とはオーストラリアに留学している時に出会いました。あれから何年たつのかな、、、
去年の結婚パーチィの時にもきてくれました。感謝です！留学時代に知り合った友人とこうして連絡が続いているのは嬉しいものです。
男の子（男の子です）彼は、２ヶ月前に和歌山から東京にでてきたばっかり！
今、仕事場が一緒でしかも同じチームです。毎日私の相手、、大変でしょう（笑）でも、久々に純粋な子に会いました。
そんな３人が今日家にきましたが、犬のデービスをみるなり、「丸い」と言われました、確かに丸いですが、、、彼は骨太です。
その後、ベースに遊びに行きました。毎度ながら、ベースの中を一周して、その後、買い物です。
やはり、女性は買い物が好きですね。まぁ、シロウ君も熱心にベルトみてました。
その後は、立川駅にあるアジアンダイニングに行きました。おいしかった。やはり、タイ料理系は美味しいですね。また食べに行っちゃう鴨。
来月はケイコの結婚式です。とても楽しみです、、ケイコは今日もボケボケでした。
そして今日の写真も、私、、五平餅みたく顔でかいです。。。

頭痛いです。さて、昨日は大将（悪魔）のお誕生日会でした。他人のお誕生日会を開くのは何年ぶりかしら。１５人程集まり、皆でわいわい飲みました。昨日の主役の大将について少しお話しますかねぇ。私が大将に会ったのは、仕事場です。第一印象などは全く覚えてませんが、ドシって感じの人です（気持ちがね）大将はテレ屋、口数も少ないですが、心優しい人だなって思います。まぁ、たまに悪魔みたいになりますが。昨日は、悪魔が差し出した日本酒で、私、酔っぱらいました。今もめっちゃ頭、痛いです。。久々に私、酔っぱらってしまいました。今年、日本を離れる事とこうして皆と飲める回数が限られているって思ったら、飲んでしまった。。まだ次の勤務先は決まってないけど、おそらく、スペインかな。。。どうかな。。。テケテ

This past week was Valentine's Day although due to our busy schedules, we couldn't be together. I am getting ready to go pick Takako up at Haijima (拝島駅). I bought her a National Juicer/Mixer. It is the one that she wanted. Now we can make banana/strawberry and whatever shakes anytime.

My have we been busy.

I have been busy during the week with work, playing with Day-bis, playing my Wii, PT (physical training), and of course the weekly 5K run mandatory on base. Takako has been busy at work in Shinagawa (品川). We only see each other on the weekends.

Day-bis had his wart/pimple thing removed a couple of weeks ago, although he must have scratched his stitches. They broke. He has a battle scar but we waited another week and had them removed. Although during that week, he had to wear a tv antenna every once in a while.

This weekend we will be going on a day trip to Tateyama (館山) with Hideko (カブちゃん). I believe that we will pick some strawberries and other sight-seeing things. It should be an adventure. Day-bis will guard our house until we arrive home.

Then we will get ready for Valentine's Day.

Ahhh... It is almost the end to the first month of the new year. Things may be winding down for you as you read this, although we are just getting started again. We are starting on Takako's visa paperwork and boy is it a lot. We need to gather all of the paperwork, make an appointment for the US Embassy here in Tokyo, and then we should have everything ready for our PCS this December. (Still awaiting the assignments list that comes out at the beginning of February.)

She will also be getting her driving permit soon. Then we are hoping this summer she will take the driving class on base to get a 'AAA' license. Then she can drive pretty much anywhere in the world.

Our little Day-bis is getting a little bit bigger and weighs in at a hefty 7.35 kg (~16 lbs.) and he is almost nine months old! He has been a part of our family now for about seven of those months.

今日は誕生日である。気がつけば３１歳である。早い。。なんか早いなぁ１年が。。いいのか、、これで。。と思う毎日である。
さて、今年の誕生日は、母親と旦那と横浜中華街に行ってきた。いきつけの店がっても他の店をしらないから毎回そこなんだけどね。路地裏にある小さな店。でも毎回行列なんだよね。。でもそこのシュウマイはおいしい。その後、中華街をぶらぶらして家路に。。。
ケーキを食べて近くの銭湯へ。気持ちよかった！来週からまた仕事頑張りますか。。。

明けましておめでとう！
Seeing the first new sun of the new year, here in the land of the rising sun! Love to all of our friends and family!

今日は１２月３０日である。今年１年をふりかえってみると早かった。
１月のお誕生日＆新年会パーティ、６月のアメリカでの結婚式、７月からの仕事再開、そして１２月の日本での結婚披露パーティ。
早かったなぁ〜。
さて、昨日はトリプルデーとした。っても友人の友人の彼女を初雄披露目だったんだけど（まだその友人の友人とは数回しか会った事ないんだけど）その友人はかなり顔がゆるんでいて、、ちょっと笑ってしまった。でも付き合い始めって新鮮で、顔ゆるんじゃうよねぇ、、。
私もそうだったかな、、ん？どうだったかな、、忘れた（笑）
そうそう来年の１月は私のお誕生日だけど、来年は私ではなくていつも祝ってくれている（おそらく祝ってくれているハズ）友人達のお誕生日会を開こうと思うんだよね。。多分（笑）

結婚して初めてのクリスマスイブです。
金曜日に家に帰ったら、クリスマスツリーが。
驚いたけど、嬉しかった。
私が小さい頃、母がツリーを買ってくれました。それを思い出してしまいました。
１年前の今日は、旦那にプロポーズされた日です。あれから１年、とても早いです。
今日は、旦那がポテトチャウダーを作ってくれます。その後、プレゼントをあけます。楽しみ〜

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Back in October or early November, Takako, Day-bis and I were filmed on base for 'Holiday Greetings'. After a short intro of who you are, where you are stationed, you can send a greeting to loved ones back in the states. The tape is then sent to the nearest TV stations and gets aired during the holiday season.

I have just received an email from my family letting me know that they have seen the video and also told me where I can see it online. It is just one of those things that keeps us close during times of geographical separation.

Yesterday, Takako had to go to work for a couple of hours, Sunday of all days... She is sure keeping busy during the holiday's.

Day-bis and I went to a nearby park. He loved smelling the autumn leaves, running in the sand, and most of all going down the slide. We will go back there with Takako once it gets warmer... It has been in the mid 40's up to the low 60's recently. Still no snow yet.

Later that night we had Yakiniku (焼肉) for dinner Sunday night and just relaxed at home.

Our Japanese wedding reception just took place yesterday, the 9th of December. We had a great turnout of about 50 family & friends (including us). The party was held in a reception hall in Akasaka (赤坂) named Subir. Afterwards, a small group of about 18 people went to karaoke at Shidax in Shibuya (渋谷). We spent about three hours singing, eating, drinking and enjoying the moment. A little while later, we took a stroll to a Japanese restaurant and ate a little more before boarding the train bound for home. Now we are getting ready for Christmas and looking forward to a great New Year awaiting us in 2007!

Technical Sergeant. It is a difficult achievement in the Air Force. Quite difficult to attain, but I made it.

This Saturday, December 9th is our Japanese Reception for any friends that weren't able to make it to Minnesota for our ceremony. Our MC for our Japanese reception, Shuki Kishikawa, had gotten his jumpsuit pressed for a picture at work with the newest telephone TSgt. Takako has made the majority of the preparations for the ceremony in Akasaka. Takako & I have made the DVD and background music CD's. I think we are just about ready.

Ahhh...Thanksgiving. The time in late November, when we give thanks to God for all that he has blessed us with. Just talking with my family over the phone today, I just wanted to say how thankful I am for all they have done for my wife and I. We miss you being over here in Japan and we wish we could've been there to share in the feast! We love you all!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Well, we listened to Bob Barker from the Price is Right. He had been telling us for years to "...help control the pet population, have your pet spayed or neutered..." Day-bis just got neutered today. He still has the stitches in and where the IV was inserted, shaved hair. It should all pass by in about two weeks. Here we are about $400 later...

If you know me, you would know that I like video games. Yes, I am already into my thirties, but they have been with me since the Atari 2600, way back in the day. I had purchased many console's/handheld's but now there is only one choice. The Wii from Nintendo. Backwards compatible with NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, TurboGrafx-16, N64, and the GameCube discs.

Less than a week left for me to order mine.

Day-bis has many toys, almost all of which are his favorite at any point in time. One toy, he did not show much interest in, he now has crowned his FAV. It is an orange/pink/blue rubber ring thing given to him from Hideko.

Every once in a short while, he will go back to his baby blanket to chew the edges off. I don't know why...

Takako, Hideko, six month & one day old Day-bis and I just returned from a picnic at Lake Okutama. It was a beautiful day, a little on the windy side, but great for a picnic. We are winding down this weekend, getting ready for another week of work.
